"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." — Carl Rogers
I'm Manjeet — a BACP Accredited counsellor with masters-level training in Psychodynamic Counselling, working with adults, children, young people, and families. My practice brings together years of experience across the NHS, the charity sector, and private settings including the Priory Hospital.
My background is broad: I've worked in specialist mental health teams, supported families navigating eating disorders and self-harm, and walked alongside survivors of domestic violence and childhood trauma. Before retraining as a counsellor, I worked as a Nursery Nurse and Montessori teacher — an experience that deepened my understanding of how early relationships shape who we become.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, or simply feel that something isn't right, I offer a warm, non-judgemental space where you can begin to make sense of what you're going through — at your own pace.
Sessions are available during the day, evenings, and Saturday mornings, with flexible formats including single sessions, time-limited packages, and long-term work.

My work spans a range of presenting difficulties. If you're unsure whether I can help with your situation, please don't hesitate to reach out — I'm happy to have an initial conversation.

Therapy Approaches
I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches, tailoring my way of working to what suits you best. There's no one-size-fits-all in counselling — what matters most is that you feel heard, respected, and that the work feels right for you.
My training is rooted in psychodynamic thinking, which explores how past experiences shape present patterns. Alongside this, I integrate person-centred principles — because I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to offer a consistent, compassionate presence as you find your way forward.
Where appropriate, I can also offer shorter-term, solution-focused work for those who need practical support within a set timeframe.
Ask about my approachFor younger children who process their world through play rather than words — a creative, child-led space to explore feelings safely.
Tailored support for teenagers navigating identity, anxiety, relationships, self-harm, or trauma — with honesty and without judgement.
Sometimes it helps to work with the whole family. I can offer sessions that bring everyone together to improve communication and understanding.
With a Montessori teaching background and years as a Nursery Nurse, I bring a uniquely informed understanding of child development to my therapeutic work.
Children & Young People
Children and young people experience the world intensely — and they don't always have the words to explain what they're going through. That's something I understand deeply, having spent years working as a Nursery Nurse and Montessori teacher before retraining as a therapist.
That background means I know how to meet children where they are. Whether a young person is struggling with anxiety, friendship difficulties, trauma, self-harm, or changes at home, I offer a calm, consistent space where they can begin to feel safe — and from that safety, begin to open up.
For younger children, I use play therapy — a gentle, child-led approach where play becomes the language. For older children and teenagers, I draw on person-centred and psychodynamic methods, always following the young person's lead rather than imposing a structure that doesn't fit.
